 It is never too early to start introducing your child to the beauty of Early

At the age of five, Lee Hauii does not only makes his parents proud with his
progress and achievements in school, but also pleases them with his positive
and encouraging traits at such a young age. Started with Smart Reader Kids® Seksyen
9, Shah Alam at the age of two, Hauii is independent, outspoken and talented.
Coming from a non-speaking English background, which only speaks Mandarin, Hauii
now does not only speaks fluent English, but also reads and writes impressively
in English.
“I love both English and Mandarin. I speak Mandarin at home, but when
I’m in school, I speak English,” said Hauii, who also mentioned that
his favourite subject in school is Mathematics. When asked on what he enjoys
most in school, Hauii giggled and replied, “I like to play with my friends.
I have many friends in school and my best friend’s name is Athirah Afrie.
I also love singing, acting and drawing.”
When asked on his ambition, Hauii proudly states, “I want to be a ‘Rescue
Doctor’ (Military Doctor) to save people.”
Hauii has just completed the recording sessions with three other selected
Smart Reader kids for a CD compilation of 13 children’s songs composed
by the music trainer of Smart Reader® Worldwide. Hauii even sang solo
for one of the songs, entitled “The Friendly Whales” during this
recent interview session done at Wisma Smart Reader, Desa Sri Hartamas.
Hauii took part in last year’s Smart Reader Kids of the Year and
Talent Search Contest (Group Event 5 – 6 years old). He danced and sang
songs from ‘The Sound of Music’ with four other children from the
same centre (Smart Reader Kids® Seksyen 9, Shah Alam). He also participated
in a musical play during the Zone’s Annual Concert last year in Kelana
Jaya.
Hauii’s mum, Ms Tan Sze Liang feels that young children need to mix
around with one another to allow them to socialize among themselves and build
up their self-confidence. She said that this is the main reason why she started
her son’s pre-formal education with Smart Reader Kids® Seksyen 9,
Shah Alam when he reached the age of two.
“We come from Mandarin speaking background where everybody in my family
speaks Mandarin. I want Hauii to have a strong foundation in English. Hence,
my husband and I believe that Smart Reader Kids®, being an excellent English
Early Childhood Education provider, is able to assist our son in building up
his English proficiency,” explained Ms Tan, who sees results through the
his son’s fluency in the language.

people.”Being an independent and outspoken kid, Hauii knows how to take care of others
in school as well as manage his own time at home. “The minute he opens
his mouth to talk, he will go on and on. It’s like he is telling me a never
ending story,” relates his mum.
To Ms Amy Ng, principal of Smart Reader Kids Seksyen 9, Shah Alam,
Hauii is a very disciplined kid. He knows when to play and when to get serious
during lessons in class. His reading and pronunciation improve a lot from the
time when he first joined.
