The Huszainey’s siblings are very different in many ways even though
they share the same genetic pool. However, different in personality and interests,
their close sister-brother bond is remarkably extended from home to school,
where they all grow up together with Smart Reader Kids® (Seremban 2).
The siblings and their proud parents have recently taken a trip from Seremban
to Kuala Lumpur to share their views on early childhood education and preschool
experiences with Smart Reader Kids®.
“Initially, I just want my children to have a solid foundation in English.
That was the reason we chose the Smart Reader Kids® programme. After
enrolling my two older daughters, Anis and Naili at the age of five and two,
I found that the friendly, interesting and fun environment in the centre has
further given them the excitement and enjoyment of going to school, which is
one of the most important aspects of learning. Now I can really see the positive
traits in them although both of them are no longer with Smart Reader Kids® preschool
programme. However, they are still following the Smart Reader® English
Tutorial Programme,” relates Roselaini Bt Datuk Seri Abu Zahar, mother
to the four children, namely Anis (10), Naili (7), Iman (6) and Iskandar Mirza
(4).
According to the children’s father, Huszainey Thamby Hussain, his children
never hesitate attending school. He is happy that there has never been any
complaint about them from the teachers.
“To me, academic grades are not stressed among the kids as long as they
want to learn and enjoy their education. At the end of the day, the most important
thing is they should possess the right attitude and behavior. As a father,
I enjoy spending time with my kids, especially listening to their everyday
experiences. At the same time, I also want them to be independent and learn
to handle things on their own,” explained Huszainey, who also believe
that it is important to give every child the opportunity to mingle with other
kids from different races and backgrounds to enhance their socialisation skills
at an early age.
Anis, the eldest of the four siblings, is very talkative and speaks fluent
English. Having the ambition of becoming an artist, she enjoys stage performances,
such as public speaking, story telling, singing and dancing. She recalls her
fun and interesting experiences with Smart Reader Kids® (Seremban 2)
where she received her first-hand knowledge and experiences through various
classroom and extra-curricular activities organised by the centre. She finds
that primary school now is not as interesting as she was with Smart Reader
Kids®. Even the school syllabus was too easy for her when she started
Primary One. However, she is happy that she has learnt a lot during her preschool
years with Smart Reader Kids®.
“Anis gave a speech during her uncle’s wedding dinner early this
year in the presence of our former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir and his wife.
She narrated the story about the bride and groom, which was written by her
aunt. Tun Dr Mahathir was very impressed with the way she delivered her speech
and praised her for her good public speaking skills. He then asked her which
school she is from. She excitedly replied that she is from Smart Reader Kids® (Seremban
2). Despite the fact that she is no longer with the preschool programme, she
feels proud to mention her favourite preschool,” recounts Roselaini.
Anis giggled as her mum retold the story.
"...Tun Dr Mahathir was very impressed with the way
she delivered her speech and praised her for her good public speaking skills.
He then asked her which school she is from. She excitedly replied that she
is from Smart Reader Kids® (Seremban
2)..."According to the parents, three of their younger children
were with Smart Reader Kids® (Seremban 2) together at one point of time.
Apparently, the children had a healthy competition among themselves in school.
There were once the children brought home their hand-made Mother’s and
Father’s
Day cards and asked their parents to determine who did the best card. Since
the children started with Smart Reader Kids®, the couple is very happy
with the children’s social and academic development, especially in recognising
their own potential and striving for the best.
“Anis is very active and more extrovert compared to her younger siblings.
Naili, on the other hand, is more focused in terms of studying. She is more
of a silent observer. We think that she benefited most academically from the
Centre as she spent almost four years with Smart Reader Kids®. As for
Iman, her personality is very much in between Anis and Naili. Our youngest
child, Iskandar is the youngest member in Smart Reader Kids® (Seremban
2)’s history when he joined at the age of two. He is an active and fast
learner. He knows a lot, but likes to act foolish at times,” explained
Huszainey, who finds his children’s characters rather amusing.
According to Pavani Muru or better known as Mrs Muru, principal of Smart Reader
Kids®® (Seremban 2), the Huszainey’s siblings are always in the
limelight. There have not been any complaints about them in school. All of
them are very expressive and well behaved.
“I’m thankful to have such wonderful parents like the Huszainey’s
couple to assist our role in educating the children. We really appreciate the
faith and trust that they have given us in caring for their kids. It has been
a very valuable teacher-parent relationship that we want to establish with
every parent,” said Mrs Muru.
