life. Hence, a direct involvement in your child’s early education will
ensure his or her smooth journey towards a constructive personal development

Pn Norhela bt Che Zain, principal of Smart Reader Kids® Bandar Damai Perdana
and one her Smart Reader Kids® students, Nerissa Nur Irdina bt Yusuff,
six, have recently came for an interview session to share their stories and
experiences being involved in the Smart Reader Kids® programme.
“I love working with children. It is a wonderful experience to see these
kids learn, develop and grow each day. Understanding their needs and behavior
at this stage will help to develop a positive attitude and personality that
will stay with them throughout their lives. Therefore, it is important for
child educators to create a close friendly bond with the children as well as
their parents to monitor their progress and development,” explained Pn
Norhela, who wants to play a part for her community by directly involving herself
in Early Childhood Education.
According to Pn Norhela, one of the most prominent factors that contribute
to her Centre’s success is her group of dedicated teachers and extremely
supportive community members. She said that the high enrolment of students
at her Centre is largely due to the extensive word-of-mouth about the Smart
Reader Kids® programme.
Being one of Smart Reader Kids® students, Nerissa Nur Irdina may only
be six years old, but her talents in stage performances, such as singing, dancing,
public speaking and storytelling have impressively shine; turning her into
one of the most outstanding children of Smart Reader Kids® Bandar Damai
Perdana.

because I have many friends and I like computer class,” said Nerissa,
who also talked about her best friend, Mimi and their similar interests in
clothing and stickers collection. Being a polite and yet active child, Nerissa
takes part in almost every event organised by the Centre. She is very confident
and is never afraid of trying new tasks. As one of the top students in class,
she does well academically, especially in English and Mathematics.
“Nerissa is a smart learner. She always looks for answers whenever she
has doubts and is always curious to know more about things around her. Therefore,
she tends to ask a lot of questions,” relates Pn Norhela.
On the principal’s involvement in Early Childhood Education, Pn Norhela
expressed that it is a genuine noble profession. She said that it is a great
feeling to be able to nurture our future generation and contribute to a better
society.
“Preschool years are the most crucial years for us to build a solid
foundation for our children’s future. We want to let the children keep
beautiful memories of their preschool years. Most importantly, this learning
experience, their positive attitudes and interest in learning will stay with
them as they grow older,” said Pn Norhela.
