 Being
the youngest child in the family, six-year old Ahmad Nazrin Zainal Abidin is
matured enough to know when to play and when to get serious. While many children
are still clueless about their future, Ahmad Nazrin already has a vision of his
own. Having a caring and considerate heart, Ahmad Nazrin wants to become a policeman
when he grows up.
“I want to join the police in catching all the bad people!” exclaimed
Ahmad Nazrin, when asked on the reason behind his ambition. Being with Smart
Reader Kids® Taman Sungai Besi Indah for two years, Ahmad Nazrin has been
participating actively in various in-and-out of classroom activities organised
by the school. Already a curious child, Ahmad Nazrin always tries to find the
root answers to all his doubts. One day, he went home after school and explained
to his mum on how rubbers are manufactured.
According to his mum, Nor Azlina Abd Aziz, Ahmad Nazrin loves to talk. He
tells her stories from school and asks a lot of questions. Learning to be independent,
Ahmad Nazrin manages his own timetable at home. He does his homework independently
and reads a lot too, despite spending some time in between with his ‘Play
Station.’
“I’m happy that my son enjoys all the lessons in class. I believe

“Ahmad Nazrin was quite reserved and shy when he first joined the school.
Through many interactive and creative activities in class, he has opened up to
be more active and outspoken. We tried to increase his confidence by taking into
consideration his fear and anxiety. Initially, he was worried that other children
would laugh at him when he talks in front of others. Then, the teachers try to
encourage him to speak up and improve on his communication skills. After a while,
he was able to gain his self-confidence, especially in expressing himself in
front of a crowd,” relates Jaspal Kaur, principal of Smart Reader Kids® Taman
Sungai Besi Indah.
“Although an active and playful child, he is also attentive. Being a
fast-learner, he picks up things almost immediately and understands lessons well.
He can speak and read fluently in English and Bahasa Melayu. He also excels in
Mathematics,” continued Jaspal, who stresses on understanding and general
knowledge among the children.

Ahmad Nazrin was one the young talents participated in the “Magical
Extravaganza” Concert, a record-breaking event - “Longest Performance
by Children” which was recorded in the Malaysia Book of Records last year.
His talent and confidence on stage was displayed during his Bunny dance routine
in the musical play of ‘Alice in the Wonderland.’
